As I sit here in 80 degree weather at a waterside café table, sipping Rose in Northern California, you would think the subject of FUR would not cross my mind. But, after all, the couture spring 2010 shows just ended in Paris. Being the fashionista that I am, and knowing retailers have already received their pre-fall collections, my mind is wandering off towards fall 2009 fur fashion. There is so much newness in fur . As per my other articles, designers fell in love with fur all over again for this upcoming season. My mind is reeling through the gorgeous coats that Donna Karan showed for Fall '09. How ingenious is she? By adorning fur on the sleeves of her tailored coats, she is utilizing fur in a new way. Michael Kors just loved colored fur- hmmm I'm thinking can I pull off purple fur this Fall, not sure if I can go for the neon yellow? As I continue to sip sitting bayside, my mind cannot stop thinking about the fur-ab-u-lous Giambattista Valli Fur vest, with it's unique proportions, sporty hood and zip front, this is a key item for where I am in Northern California. I am going to call Saks after I finish writing. Of course in Northern California, the journey to Lake Tahoe every weekend is all important , and I know for that sporty meets luxe look I must purchase Iceberg's puffy blk nylon jacket with fun dyed fox trims. Ok, it is getting late in the day, with the bay fog rolling in, I know Fall is right around the corner and I'm off to see what the stores have on their floors. More... |
