One trend that showed up consistently for men in the menswear 2004/05 collection presented in Milan last month bomber jackets in fur.

Byblos' tribute to Frank Sinatra celebrated the male silhouette. Minimal jackets with high collars, even shoulder pads in side fur lined sporty cut jackets. It's a look that will make you nostalgic for the manners of that era. Remember when men lit women's cigarettes with lighters? Sigh.

We can still dream of the perfect man with his knack for casually luxury. The fur scarves and fur-lined coats at Cerrutti were just right for this man. After all, no woman wants a man to look like he's trying too hard to be fashionable. Cerrutti got the classic but casual pairing and the mix of fur to fun just right.

Fendi is still the one to watch for style but never fear - they too went for the classic full on fur bomber jackets in luxurious mink and nappa in chocolate and black.

The savvy man also showed up at Jasper Conran. He highlighted sharp manly silhouettes with - you guessed it more soft black leather bomber jackets lined with fur for day and then toppedc with fox scarves for evening.

But Cavalli's extravagance can make even Conran look downright sloppy. Cavalli always aims his collection at the wealthy world traveler and is known for his excessive use of furs, feathers and animal prints. He didn't let us down this collection which was a celebration of bow ties, tuxedos, fleece and fur lined jackets.

From Dirk Bikkembergs' fox collars on bomber jackets to Gucci's white fur jacket for the metrosexual man, to Valentinos white sheepskin with fur - mens fashion next fall looks to be VERY Playboy!

If Milan is any indication of where fashion is going for men in 2004/05 I'd say the Male is back. And in fine form too.
