![]() Do blondes have more fun with fur? Apparently so. Especially when blondes choose the color of their fur coat so it will match the color of their hair. According to Rodolfo Valentin, colorist and owner of Rodolfo Valentin Atelier for Hair on Madison Avenue in NY, when it comes to furs, blondes ALSO have a lot more options. The blonde can have everything - Sable, mink, fox and any brown toned fur. The matching rule, unfortunately does not work the same for red heads. Whatever happens a red head should never choose a red coat! Red, burgundy or auburn tones in hair means stay away from sable or golden colors, instead choose a dark mink or silver fox. Brown hair, however, works very well with leopard and caramel colors and dark hair has many more options. If you consider how much you spend on a fur coat, it is not SO farfetched to think you'd match your hair color to your hair. Many women take it one step further and even consider their skin tones before choosing a fur. There is nothing worse than if hair is clashing with your fur coat, says Colorist James Corbett at Peter Coppola -212.988.9404 on 64th & Madison. Fur should also match skin tone, the same way hair color must work with skin tone. Ruddy complexions look better in cooler hair (neutral ashier tones) which look best with a fur with lots of gray in it, like that steely blue gray color. Paler complexions, ivory for example, need something to warm them up - like a rich golden brown fur. But an even bigger faux pas now is to have your hair AND the hair of your fur clash with your dog. It's very common, says Valentin that a woman brings the dog and says I love my dogs hair color. I would love to have some reflections in that color. Especially they love the Yorkshire terrier - that breed has a beautiful honey color in the lower body, like a frosting brown. Everyone wants that color now!
