Some of the top names in fur fashion gathered in Milan recently to give a unique, multi-designer runway show hosted by North American Fur Association (NAFA), the marketing group for some of the best quality fur pelts from North America.

Almost 500 invited guests from all over the world crowded into Cafe l'Atlantique, one of Milan's hottest discos, to view the show and celebrate North American mink, fox and wild furs carrying the labels NAFA and NAFA Northern. The night also included an awards presentation to retailers and manufacturers who purchased the most expensive bundles of pelts at auction during recent months.

Featured in the show were 12 names representing both the new and traditional schools of fur design and their visions for fall 2001. From Italy were Angelo Danzi, Mila Schon, Gai Mattiolo, Thez Tziveli, Jun, Tosato, and Mariella Burani. From Hong Kong/China were Compela by Johnny Kar and Rosette by Ocean Fur. Zuki represented Canada; Michael Kors for Pologeorgis was from the United States, and Groenlandia came from Spain.

The presentation displayed the range of NAFA furs, from NAFA ranched mink and fox to NAFA Northern wild wolverine, beaver, lynx, lynx cat, squirrel, fisher and Canadian/American sable.
