With optimism in the Japanese market and the Pacific Rim growing in importance for the world-wide fur trade, the Japan outerwear fair attracts several North American manufacturers as exhibitors. Add them to a roster of European design houses (the fair is organized by the company that organizes the Frankfurt fur and outerwear fair), and the Japan International Fashion Fair offered an early look at international outerwear fashion. "Good results were mainly reported from German and Japanese exhibitors as well as Canadian and Finnish companies," reported the fair.
This year the fair changed its name, from Fur & Fashion Japan Messe to Outerwear '96, Japan International Fashion Fair, to reflect a more all-inclusive approach to outerwear.
